Chance's new love....

Chance's new love is FOOTBALL!!  Payson doesn't offer it for his age so we signed him up over in  Santaquin and he absolutely loved it.  It  probably helps that he is one of the oldest kids and made the first touchdown of every game!!

Chance's Birthday Party...

Chance wanted to go to Lowe's Air for his birthday party...GREAT!!  It makes it very easy for me and the kids LOVE it!!

Basically it is a building full of trampolines, climbing walls, foam pits, etc...

It's hard to believe that my "baby" is 8 years old!!  I know he's excited but it's bittersweet for me.   They are growing up WAY too fast!!

End of the school year is always bittersweet for us!!   The kids (and me) become so attached to their teachers.  I LOVE our school and we have the BEST teachers!!  These pics are from the last day of school!

Show n' Teach

Chance's class is doing show and teach for the next week. Each kid has to show and teach the class how to do something.

I asked Chance what he wanted to do...and throughout the course of 2 days, he changed his mind about 10 times. And they think girls are indecisive.

Then the morning of his show and teach, I get ONE bottle ready for him to show the class and he informs that he wants enough for the WHOLE class to do one. So off I go to the store - empty out 24 bottles of water and fill 24 balloons with baking soda. Because I have nothing else to do..haha!

Anyway, he ended up doing the science experiment with vinegar, baking soda, and blowing up a balloon...unfortunately you can't really hear him talking but the kids did love it.

What was he thinking????

I noticed that Chance's blanket had fallen off and I stepped into his room to put it back on him. As I did, he rolled over and said, "Mom, I forgot to tell you something."

"What?" I asked.

"I have computers on Thursdays."

"OK, I'll make sure to write it down." I replied.

He didn't even open his eyes once while he was talking to me.

I walked out of the room laughing because I couldn't help but think, "What was this kid thinking or dreaming about? Have I made my kids super paranoid about scheduling? and keeping track of their schedules?

That's it!! I've totally ruined him and he is having nightmares about keeping track of what he does each day at school!!! Hahahaha!

I love kids and their cute little comments - I thought this was cute and just wanted to jot it down before I forgot.

Chance's Birthday

I was trying to decide what to do for Chance's birthday because we are also in the middle of soccer and getting ready to go to California. Ya'll know that I would have done whatever he wanted bit I was a little worried about a party that would take a lot of preparation - I gave him a few choices and he decided he wanted a karate party!! WHEW!! Lucky me because I called his karate studio and they actually do birthday parties.

I made sparring sticks for the kids and they also got to decorate their own headbands (some were very interesting..hahaha). It was great fun...Chance loved it and that's all that matters!!

Karate

Chance has been begging to start Karate - but I wanted to wait until school started. I just didn't want to worry about running around during the summer. So, I took the plunge and started him the week before school. Now I'm wishing that I had waited another month because we have soccer the same night as karate which is also the same night as Jeff's Krav Maga...which means that I am trying to get Chance to karate and Hailey & Chance to soccer - all at overlapping times. It's only for 5 weeks...think I can handle that??? I sure hope so!!!

Lost Child.....

We put the kids to bed last night as usual and then went about doing a few things..I worked on some sewing and Jeff was setting up our wireless printer.
I went into Chance's room to make sure he was covered up because he has a tendency to just go in and lay down with nothing...BUT he wasn't in bed. I have found him sleeping in his closet or behind the door but he wasn't there either. I thought that maybe he slipped downstairs to sleep in the guest room but he wasn't there. I checked the girl's rooms, the family room, the front room, our bedroom...he was NO WHERE to be found.
I was starting to get a little worried when I noticed a pillow hanging out from underneath the futon..I took a closer look and finally found our little lost child asleep under the futon.
There was NO way to slide him out so Jeff had to lift the futon while I picked him up. Thank goodness our lost child didn't wander too far from his bed!! :)

Chance's B-day

I'm a little bit slow on posting Chance's Birthday. My "baby" turned 6 last week. We went to Pirate's Island in Orem to celebrate his Birthday. It was a lot of fun!! The kids LOVED it!! They played pirates all day on Saturday. Chance has been waiting SO long for Lego Batman and was so excited to get home and play it.

And Chance lost....

Chance & I were going to work out this morning. He was going to ride the bike and I was going to run on the treadmill. I got everything set up and then realized that I had forgot gum which is VERY important because then I don't need a drink every 2 seconds.

I walked out of the room and had just got to the bottom of the stairs when I heard a huge THUD! and I knew that Chance had gotten on the treadmill, turned it on, and it had just shot him out the back. The problem is - I parked it too close to the wall so he was stuck between the wall and the treadmill. Dumb! I know!! I actually thought about it while I was moving it around (so that we could watch TV while we were working out) but I figured it would be OK because I would fold it up when I was done and take the "key" out.

Anyway, he was lucky that when he fell and started kicking, it actually unplugged the treadmill. By the time I got in there, he was screaming bloody murder. He got up and I could tell we had some tread burns across his face. The one above his eye worried me the most because it was white - it looked like dead white skin and it was a bit concaved. UGH!! What do I do? Get an icebag - isn't that always the answer!?!?

I had Jeff come home and he looked at it. He thought it was probably a 3rd degree burn which meant that he was going to have a huge scar there. I called the Dr. and asked if we could bring him in to get looked at. They couldn't get me in until 2pm. By then, there was very little white - which is good. He still wanted me to see a dermatologist for a 2nd opinion. I think it's improved a ton since this morning! I wish I had taken a pic for ya'll to see but I was too worried.

Needless to say, I feel very guilty. I should have pulled the "key" when I went upstairs and I shouldn't have put it so close to the wall. This little boy is going to get anything he wants for the next day or so - just because I feel so guilty!

Here's a pic of what it looks like tonight before we went to bed. It seriously looks so much better! Imagine all that red on his forehead as being completely white and I don't mean clear - I mean WHITE! It took both Jeff & I holding him to put medicine on for the night.

My "Baby" is 5..

I can't believe my "baby" is 5 years old. We are so lucky to have this little man in our home.

Jeff & I thought this would be a great gift for Chance - he didn't think so - at first. Then we took it outside (at 8:30pm) and let him try it out with his bike. He LOVED it!!

Chance has been without a scooter for awhile. We found this cool Hot Wheels scooter and had to get it for him. He was so excited!!
