Lots of Good News

Lots of good news for me!!!

First, I got permission to drive to Physical Therapy today. (To be honest, I actually started driving on Tuesday - but now I can for real!!!)

Secondly, I get to dump the brace that I have been wearing since my surgery. It has been 4 weeks today and I have had to wear this brace 24-7. When I first started, it was set so that I could not bend my knee. As I slowly increased my knee movement, my physical therapist would "unlock" it a little more and allow for more movement. Imagine sleeping with this thing on...UGH!!! See how horrible...


And last - but not least, I weighed myself today and I have not gained 1 pound since my surgery!! Yeah!! I can gently ride a bike for 5 minutes and walk on the treadmill for 6-8 minutes. Wow!! Huh??? I don't even break a sweat with that workout!!! I can't wait to be back up and going again.

So - lots of good things going on here!!!

Physical Therapy

OK - So, Physical Therapy was not as bad as I thought. I'm going to a guy who is in my ward. (Not sure if that is good or not because if I cry like a baby - he'll think of that every time he sees me at church.) Anyway, he took off all my bandages so that was my first look at my leg. He was surprised at how little I had bled. My gauze had no blood on it so that was good. He did a few exercises which proved how little movement I have in my knee right now. I was able to bend it to 24 degrees when I got there. He worked with it a little and I was up to 71 degrees before I left which is good but it's that coming in "cold" number that we need to work on.

So, all that worry for nothing. He gave me some exercises to do from home and I go back Friday. I think he's slowly working me up to the painful exercises..hahaha!

Post Surgery Blues

I'm so BORED!!!! I left myself plenty of things to do from the recliner but I'm still getting stir crazy!!

Surgery went great. Jeff said the doctor came out and told him that he fixed my ACL and something else (but Jeff couldn'nt remember what the other thing was). I start physical therapy tomorrow which I'm kinda scared about. I've heard it's very painful. I haven't really experienced any pain since the surgery except for in my "pits" from using the stupid crutches! OUCH!!

So, my mom & dad are here which has been really nice. Mom helped me to laundry today. It also gives me someone to talk to since I'm kinda bound to the recliner.

Anyway, I'm finishing up some projects while I'm sitting here and I'll post pics of them as I get them done. I have nothing else to do - right?
