My Summer Happenings...Part 1

So, after reading my friend Emily's blog about all the things she has done so far - it reminded me of a list that we made one night at FHE - all the things we wanted to do this summer. Well, our summer has been pretty busy thus far, but I took a peek and realized we have not done anything yet so I better get busy. Here's a look at our list:
Jumping Jacks
Hike up to the Grotto
Make Mud Pies (guess who picked this one??)
Camping
Swimming (at Seven Peaks)
Have Lunch w/Dad
Feed Ducks
Neighbor BBQ
Spanish Fork Reservoir
IMAX Movie (or a 3D movie - we'll see which works out better!)
Geocashing
Zoo?? (this one might get bumped - Mom gets final say on activities, right?)
Temple Square
Outside Movie
Shopping trip to St. George

4th of July Weekend

Wow!! What a busy weekend we had in Idaho! We started out with a trip to City of Rocks located just outside of Burley.

We then headed over to Alisha's house for some good food and water fun!!
Then it was off to Keegan's baseball games...they did really good and took 2nd place.
Saturday morning started with the traditional July 4th Parade..


After the parade, we grabbed some lunch at Burgers, Etc (Jeff's favorite place to eat in Burley) and then headed out for a swim at the park which didn't last long because we had a family reunion that started at 4pm. We played a little tennis and football.

The kids had fun burying each other in the rocks..


And we ended the night by watching fireworks from the banks of the Snake River...it was beautiful!!

I think we were all worn out...Chance saw one or two fireworks and then he was OUT for the night!!

We headed home somewhat early on Sunday so we could get home and get some rest...what a fun weekend!!

St. George Vacation

We headed off with some friends for a short vacation in St. George over UEA weekend. We had a lot of fun.

We were on a waitlist for a 3 bedroom condo - but it was UEA and the Huntsman Senior Games so that didn't happen. The closets in the bedrooms were HUGE so we blew up an inflatabl mattress, stuck it in the closet, and that's where the kids slept! Funny, huh?

The kids were excited to see palm trees. They kept counting them as we drove along the street. We went swimming everyday - the kids were in 7th Heaven. There were also some games at the condo and we painted some ceramics.

We also took a trip to the Gunlock Reservoir. This is the Reservoir that overflowed and caused major flooding a couple of years back. I took this opportunity to tell my kids about the Tetom Dam Flood and how we lost our home, pictures, animals, clothes, etc. Now they keep asking me to tell them that story again and again.

We had such a great time that I think we'll make this a yearly getaway - especially now that we realize it is the same distance as driving up to Idaho - but the weather is much nicer.
