Onion Days!!

I LOVE Payson Onion Days!!

We start it out my attending the carnival on Friday night. Onion Days officially starts Saturday but if you go Friday night - the rides are only 1 ticket per ride. If you wait until Saturday, the rides are 3 - 4 tickets each. BARGAIN!!

We got up early Saturday morning and headed out on a Scavenger Hunt sponsored by Payson City. We had to drive around Payson and answer questions like: What guard was killed at the gate of the fort? How many columns are located at the bandstand? etc. As we were driving around, we noticed that the fire department as having an open house so we stopped to check out the cool fire trucks. The kids got to climb in them...pretty neat!

Calista got to dress up as a firefighter.

Monday morning = Parade!!

I thought this was pretty cool. They load candy into the bed of the truck and then the operator walks behind and moves the arm from side to side and periodically candy rolls out. Kids love it!

So, Calista saw Miss Payson at the park on Friday and decided that she wants to try out for royalty. Every time a float went by, she would nudge me and say, "Look!!"
There is a royalty training session in October - I guess we'll check that out!!

The weekend flew by way too quick... Did I mention that they have booths set up at the park with lots of crafts, jewelry, books, candles, swords, etc...? It's always fun to walk through the park and check that out. Yup!! We love Payson Onion Days...can't wait until next year!!
