Thanksgiving

We kinda debated the trip to Idaho for Thanksgiving - the weather was horrible and the roads weren't much better - but as Jeff put it - "My life is not dictated by weather." haha! So off we went.... and I'm so glad we did. It was a lot of fun.

We ate Thanksgiving dinner at the high school commons - Mom's house just isn't big enough for all 32 of us! Wow!! The family really is getting BIG!!

After eating, we set up the projector and played some Wii games. I have to admit that watching everyone play Just Dance was hilarious.

The kids also made some Christmas ornaments....

We spent alot of time together with cousins and family. We laughed and laughed playing Farkle - pretty sure we stayed up until midnight both nights playing it. Fun fun game!

We also took the kids sledding several times. It was freezing cold outside - but they LOVED it!

And even though it was terribly cold outside - Jeff wore shorts outside to take the dog out..Brrrr!

The trip home was SAFE - thank goodness but very very LONG. It took us almost 2 extra hours to get home. The roads were horrible in areas and there were many slide offs and accidents. So thankful we made it home safe.

Thanksgiving in Idaho (Part 2)

I'm a little bit country....

I forget how much I miss doing things like this. We went to Mountain River Ranch the day after Thanksgiving for a sleigh ride (minus the sleigh - no snow!) to look at Christmas lights.

Here we are at the end of the ride. I'm so glad that we bundled up. From left to right, my sister (Angie), her daughter (Brynnlee), Calista, Hailey, me, and Chance.














After the ride, we stepped indoors, for cookies and apple cider. These 2 guys were playing Christmas music and they were pretty darn good.














We got our own private concert. They started to take requests from the kids and finally just sat down and sang to them. So fun!! If they didn't know a song, we would sing it to them once and then they could pick it up and play it. They even sang "The Barney Song" for my 2 year old nephew.

What a fun night!! It's times like this that I miss living around the rest of the family. We had so much fun together over Thanksgiving weekend.

What a busy day!! The morning started with the usual hussle and bussle of fixing salads, turkey, potatoes and etc for Thanksgiving dinner. My mom rented the high school commons area for Thanksgiving dinner - our family is getting big enough that this is the only way to handle all 25 of us. Dinner was yummy (as usual).

After dinner, we settled in to make gingerbread houses.

We left the high school and headed home to browse the ads and see what we were going to go after on Black Friday. I didn't get my KitchenAid at Walmart - but then I heard there were only 8-10 so my odds weren't very good. I came home and logged online to find a pretty good one (for about $50 more) on amazon.com Merry Christmas to Me!!!
