Happy Birthday Hailey!!!

Today is Hailey's birthday and as luck would have it - there was no school which made it a perfect day for a birthday party!!! Hailey decided that she wanted ANOTHER cooking party this year...this is her 3rd one since she her 4th birthday. She does LOVE to cook!!

We usually make a recipe book with her favorite recipes so she sat down one night and listed all of them. She came up with a whopping 21 recipes!!! WOW!! Her favorite is crepes of course! Here's a quick look at all the goodies that we made - an apron, a cake, a chef hat, a recipe book, and a dish towel cupcake.

We started out by picking out a chef hat and apron - one for each girl. I debated making "real" aprons but I had to make TEN of them. These aprons are made out of dishtowels and I literally made all TEN of them within 30-40 minutes!!! Look how cute they are!
Then we started in our mini pizzas. I threw some flour out on the table and the girls got to roll out a biscuit for their pizza crust. Then they topped them with the fixin's and we sent them off to the oven.

While the pizzas were cooking, we pulled out their cakes and they got to decorate an 8" round cake to take home with them. This was fun and they all had so much fun decorating them. I think Hailey would win the contest for the cake with the most frosting. She was just spooning it onto the cake in clumps..can you say tummy ache? (check out video for pics of the cakes)

By the time we finished cakes, the pizzas were done and everyone got to eat their delicious pizzas. Mmmm...they looked good!

The girls were so full that we decided to open gifts next and wait a little bit for cake & ice cream. We played musical gifts...it's like musical chairs meets hot potato. haha Music is played while everyone passes the gifts - when the music stops, whichever gift Hailey is holding is the one that she opens. It's a fun game and alleviates the whole "Open mine next" and then everyone is having fun instead of just sitting there watching her open gifts.

The cake came next and we almost didn't get a lighted candle on it. But thanks to Amber trying and trying with the lighter - we got a spark and the candle was lit!!! Hailey requested that we sing Happy Birthday to her like this: (tune of we wish you a merry christmas)

We wish you a Happy Birthday,
We wish you a Happy Birthday,
We wish you a Happy Birthday,
and a Happy whole year!

We ended up with a few minutes left over and we were going to play a taste and smell game - but pictionary was so much easier so we split into teams and played pictionary - each word was related to food or cooking. And by the way, Hailey is really good at this game!!

1:30 came way too fast and Moms started showing up to get the girls. We had a really fun time and best of all - Hailey LOVED it!

Take a few minutes and check out here party:
