YAY!!! It's 2010....what happened to 2009? It flew by so fast!!!
Our friends, Joel & Julie, invited us up to the cabin for New Year's Eve and so we headed up Parley's Canyon Thursday morning. We have to park at the gate and then snowmobile in to the cabin. WOW!! It has been awhile since I have been on a snowmobile..I forgot just how much fun they were. It would be fun to do more snowmobiling but my snowmobile is missing its track...hint hint...Jeff!
Once we got there and settled in a bit, we decided to head up the hill for some sledding. This is not any normal sledding hill - we use the road as the sledding hill which means that you have to maneuver corners and avoid creeks, trees, etc.... It is probably a good mile from the top of the hill down to the cabin...it took Calista about 3 minutes to get from top to bottom....That's what I called a sledding hill!!
It probably took Jeff and I a little less time as we were FLYING down the hill.. wish I had pictures of that one...We were going so fast (Jeff's friend clocked us at 20 mph at one point)...SO MUCH FUN!!! Yes we had crashed 3 times...Jeff had to flip the sled one time just so we would miss hitting a sapling... We came flying into the cabin so fast that Jeff had to put both his feet down and all you could see was a cloud of white..we were covered with snow..but it was so worth it!!
We had a great time with the Stewarts. We stayed up until close to 2am playing Spoons and then got up early for more sledding. What a great way to welcome in the New Year!! Thanks Stewarts!!

OK..I have to explain this pic because it's VERY blurry but I had to keep it anyway. Chance was FLYING down the hill and I was trying to take a picture and didn't notice that he was lined up to hit Calista who was waiting at the bottom. I snapped this picture just as he had hit her sled and it launched him up in the air over Calista...The sled barely hit Calista in the head but it sure scared Chance.... Crazy Driver!!
We stayed out sledding down the hill until close to 9:30pm..We had to DRAG Calista in the house..she didn't want to stop. She LOVED it and it was the first thing she wanted to do when we woke up the next morning.
Hailey coming down the hill..it was dark so she was using a flashlight to navigate her way down the hill..although a snowmobile also followed each sledder down because it was so dark.
